The music scene seems to be witnessing another round of controversy. This followed the release of a track titled "Give Am Belle Part 2" by Skutch on Saturday, 12th July.
It will be recalled that Dj DCT Of Metro Fm released the same track some time last year, where he featured Skutch while YungRoc produced the track.
The controversy we gathered is that Skutch released the same track without the express approval of Dj DCT who is the original owner of the song. In an effort to make the song sound different, he changed some of the wordings of the song, but by and large anyone who listens to the original track will know that it's just a remake that more or less sounds alike.
In a Blackberry broadcast message sent by Dj DCT in the early hours of today, he warned radio stations and bloggers not to get themselves involved in the song as it violated copyright laws of th land, it reads thus,
THIS GOES TO ALL BLOGGERS,RADIO STATIONS,AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
DON'T GET YOUR SELF,INVOLVE WITH ANY MATERIAL(SONG).TITTLED GIVE AM BELLE PART 2.THE ARTISTE HAS GONE AGAINST THE RULES AND LAWS OF COPYRIGHT.

YungRoc, who produced the original track wasn't also left out in the whole drama as he has already sent out two messages on whatspp and BlackBerry broadcast messages that read thus.
The second message reads thus:
"I have no issues with Skutch ... all I said was that its wrong for skutch to claim what doesn't belong to him ... and for Dct to say we use him as grass to fight let him correct that because im actually speaking on his behalf .... That song is being produced and WRITTEN by ME ... Skutch Cant pen a song to himself ... I will say it before him ... so how the hell will I need him to come back to my studio to give me problems in writing a song while producing him yet he calls himself an artiste ... huh ! .... Lets face the matter ... and the matter is that Skutch is frustrating someone else's efforts in the music industry maybe because he is opportune to do so cash wise ... Why didnt Skutch write a new song , meet a new producer , get a dope production ? Why would he eye on someone's effort ... why is he trying to tarnish his own image ... why is he so selfishly doing this ... I spoke because the song was produced in my studio and by me with a lot of artistes present to testify to that ... please once again I have no issues with Skutch or DCT ... I rendered my duties as an Ace Producer and the song had trends ... all I cant do is to conspire against people in selfishly getting what I want and so Did Skutch .. please get it right ..."
Project-P who happened to be skutch's manager sometime last year couldn't resist joining in the issue as he sent out a facebook post also condemning the act of his former artiste,
"Some artistes are just so unbelievable!!!
Imagine Timaya doing #Palongo part 2 with almost the same lyrics etc of the original track, all in an effort to call the song his own. Meanwhile he was merely featured by DjXclusive in the original track.

More artistes, producers, bloggers and OAPS seems to have also joined in the matter of the moment with people taking different sides on the issue. Let's just keep our fingers crossed as events continue to unfold.
