The community was thrown into a state of shock and disbelief when it discovered the headless body of the deceased along the road in the community.
It was gathered that the deceased was beheaded at night when he was returning home from a popular drinking joint.
A source close to a security outfit in the area revealed that what led to the incident was an irreconcilable differences between the deceased and his assailant over a debt of N200.
It was revealed that Ogo Nwaji allegedly confronted the deceased where they were drinking a local gin and requested that the deceased pay him the N200 debt he owed him.
A witness said the deceased denied owing his killer, which apparently led to an exchange of abusive words and threats by both parties. During the verbal feud, Ogo Nwaji threatened to kill the deceased even as the deceased equally replied that nobody could kill him.
According to Vanguard, Ogo Nwaji left the scene angrily, got to his residence, brought out a sharp cutlass, waylaid his victim at night and cut off his head as he was returning from the drinking joint.
Following the unfortunate demise of the deceased, a source hinted that the vigilante group in the community was immediately alerted and Ogo Nwaji was arrested, paraded and handed over to the police for prosecution.
The suspect has confessed to the act
