The Management And Staff of The Beats By Roc Company Nigeria , hereby inform the general public, bloggers , Nigerian Djs Association , PMAN , Broadcasting Organisation Of Nigeria (BON), Radio Houses , Presenters and all Nigerian Artistes , that the CEO of The Beats By Roc Company, Yungroc and his Staff have no hand and in no way in support of the scandalous act of piracy and blackmail which an Owerri based artiste named Skutch had done to VDJ DCT.
It came to our notice on 11th of July 2015 ,that the above mentioned artiste violated the rule of law guiding music production and re-production without the basic consents of the original owners of the music material .
August 2014 , VDJ DCT , The Founder Of De Activator Entertainment (DAE) walked into my office asking me to produce a song for him as part of his upcoming DAE ALBUM PROJECT slated to be released in 2015 . As usual we had our price bargains and DCT paid me for the track to be produced . That same day , he (Dj DCT) came up with the track title "Give Am Belle" - which is a slang in the dj world meaning 'TURN UP VOLUME' . He (DCT) also told me that he had spoken with Skutch and 'CONTRACTED' him for the song that I was about producing .
3 days later , DCT and I met on the scheduled day of the track production and in the absence of the 'Contracted' artiste. I produced the song and we invited Skutch over to the my recording studio for rehearsals . He came and on that same day I personally wrote ALL song from the chorus to the verses of the song as I found out that the contracted artiste was not able to pen down a lyrics to the beat given to him for rehearsals .The production was successful after Skutch has rehearsed and voiced the song which he was contracted for . Weeks later , VDJ DCT started off with the promotion of the 'GIVE AM BELLE' song through all possible promotional media and platforms (Radio Airplays, Magazines, Clubs, Websites, Event Centres, etc) . The promotions have been going on successfully not until 11th of July 2015 , when I recieved a call from DCT claiming that Skutch has gone behind him to re-produce the GIVE AM BELLE song again and for this time calling it part 2 . I ASKED DCT TO CONFIRM THE MATTER BEFORE CONCLUDING ON A POINT ; WHICH HE DID . Moments later DCT forwarded a promotional art cover depicting Skutch and the track title GIVE AM BELLE PART 2 and the audio Skutch had reproduced .
I reacted to this matter this matter negatively by sending out a broadcast on BBM , condemning that single act of blackmail by Skutch against a fellow entertainer .
Shortly after that , Skutch took to media to respond that the reason why I made that statement was because I was angry that he did not re-record the song in my studio . Funny as it sounded. He also claimed he had personal issues with me that made me spark up the issue at hand.
At this point , I hereby declare that I , Yungroc , is in no way having any issues with Skutch or having any thing to do with THE KNOWLEDGE in his reproducing GIVE AM BELLE which is originally owned by VDJ DCT . All I want to make clear is that Skutch reproduced a song that was not originally his and im in no manner in support of this malicious act of blackmail , bootlegging and piracy . Besides , Skutch reused the lyrical content of the original song which I see as an act of wickedness and greed against another man's efforts and against the entire entertainment industry.
This single greedy act is bad and this also goes out to the general entertainment and entertainers who have plans to indulge in such acts to desist from it because it pays nothing to the pocket rather it creates enmity between potential superstars who have and share dreams of getting where they wish to be .
If there's anything Skutch would do right now is to Render a PUBLIC APOLOGY to VDJ DCT and settle matters with him . To me , I have nothing against him and I only condem that wicked act and also put it to him that Our production outfit has more than a thousand plus clients waiting to explore our production levels and skills .
I stand to maintain the truth at all times and The Beats By Roc Company Stands to serve the general public better than bootlegging other people's works in order to expand our tentacles.
