David Beckham May Be The Next James Bond

They reckon the football legend would be perfect for the role of the super-spy now he has turned to acting.

David has already been cast alongside Harvey Keitel in a short film, Outlaws, made by the Belstaff leather brand.

He also has a speaking role in Guy Ritchie's movie Knights of the Roundtable, which will be released next year.

Fans have taken to Twitter to call for David to take over as Bond when Daniel Craig steps down.

One said: "Give David Beckham a few hours acting lessons and boom. The new James Bond."

Daniel, 47, has hinted that the latest film Spectre might be his last as Bond.

When asked if he would make his return as the famous spy, he said: "I don't know. I really don't know. But we'll see."

Becks' proud son Romeo is also keen to see his dad in an action movie.

The 13-year-old took to Instagram to praise his dad's performance in Outlaws.

He said: "Such a good movie daddy xxx."

David revealed he is determined to make it as an actor, but is aware of the possible pitfalls ahead.

The 40-year-old former Manchester United and Real Madrid star added: "I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed.

"But what I have done so far I have loved."

David said of film director pal Guy: "He wouldn't put me in a film if he thought I was going to ruin it.

"I had 13 lines and practised a huge amount.
