A hotel worth over N500m, built by a retired businessman, Mr. Tony Igbaroola, to fund his charity work, was on Saturday inaugurated at Omi Asoro area of Ilesa in Osun State.
Sambeatz Hotel & Suites, a 35-room edifice with two different capacity halls, gym, world-class swimming pool and other facilities, was inaugurated by the Diocesan Bishop, Diocese of Ilesa South West, Rt. Rev. Samuel Egbebunmi, at a well-attended ceremony on the hotel premises. Igbaroola, while speaking in an interview with our correspondent on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony, said he decided to build the hotel so that he could use money generated from it to mainly pay hospital bills of indigent patients and to fund scholarship of students from poor homes.
"Each time I go to hospitals, I see people who cannot afford surgery bills, those who cannot afford to buy drugs and except somebody assists them, they will just die like that. With the situation of things in the world and in Nigeria, many states cannot afford to assist these people and somebody must help them.
